Clerkship Program Description : The Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center Medical Toxicology rotation introduces residents to the clinical practice of medical toxicology through the Michigan Poison & Drug Information Center and affiliated DMC hospitals. The rotation includes both in-person and virtual components, combining bedside evaluation of poisoned patients, poison center consultation, case-based discussion, and didactic teaching. Residents gain experience in toxidrome recognition, antidotal therapy, overdose management, withdrawal syndromes, addiction medicine, and critical care principles, including sedation management and ventilator liberation strategies.
